In summer, the demand for drinking water was added, but the mineral water was exposed to bromate, which sounded the alarm for the safety of drinking water. Recently, the Beijing Municipal Food and Drug Administration announced that the wheat drinking natural mineral water produced by Beijing Yuya Maifanshi mineral Beverage Co., Ltd. and the gas-free natural mineral water and drinking natural mineral water of Beijing qianxianyin Food Co., Ltd. were found to have exceeded the standard of potential carcinogen bromate, and were ordered to stop selling.
Since July 2007, China has implemented the new "daily drinking water hygiene standard", and the bromate quantity should not exceed 0.01mg/l. According to the data released by Beijing food and drug administration, the bromate content of wheat drinking natural mineral water was 0.014mg/l, nearly half of which exceeded the standard. The contents of bromate in natural mineral water and drinking natural mineral water of Beijing qianxianyin Food Co., Ltd. are 0.017mg/l and 0.021mg/l respectively, which are 1.7 times and 2.1 times of the national standard respectively.
According to the long-term information on the potential carcinogenic effect of Ruan acid in animal peritoneal water, the potential carcinogenic effect of Ruan acid in drinking water was determined by International Association of animal health experts.
So why does bromate occur in mineral water? Experts have shown that natural mineral water in some areas will contain bromide. Some water enterprises will undergo ozone or chlorine disinfection and sterilization, and chemical reaction will occur in the process to produce bromate.
